Match Report

The UK Trophy

A strong field of 43 players contested the annual UK Trophy at the newly renovated Pymble Golf Club.

The UK Trophy was presented to the NSW Seniors by the visiting UK team in 2001. It is a beautifully carved set of model golf clubs mounted in a fine timber frame and is proudly held and displayed at Pymble Golf Club.

After 12 months to mature, the course was presented in excellent condition. Strategic bunkering and fast, sloping greens provided a strong test, with blustery conditions once again adding to the challenge — the third consecutive Seniors event played in the wind.

Event Format

The competition was played as an Individual Stableford, split into two equal divisions, with the best overall score awarded the UK Trophy and accompanying wine glasses.

Local knowledge was obviously a massive advantage with Pymble members at the pointy end of the results

  • Runner-up: Glenn Kendall – The Vintage (18) – 34 points (3 balls)

Closing Remarks

President John Barbour again passed on the Society’s appreciation to the Board, with James Dunning (President) and Malcolm Boyd (Captain) in attendance, along with management, for hosting the Seniors.

We also welcomed new members Glenn Kendall (The Vintage), Paul Bailey (Bankstown), and Peter Nelson (Moss Vale).

UK Seniors Tour – March 2026

We will also be hosting the UK Seniors during March:

  • Monday 9 March: Concord
  • Tuesday 10 March: The Australian
  • Thursday 12 March: New South Wales, followed by a casual dinner
  • Friday 13 March: Royal Sydney, followed by the customary Farewell Dinner

We expect availability at Concord and New South Wales. Please note that spots at The Australian and Royal Sydney will be limited. Members are also encouraged to attend the Farewell Dinner.
